چکیده

Realistic topology generators are essential to the understanding of network design and survivability analysis. Two important issues that are not sufficiently addressed by current topology generators are nodepositioning and cost considerations. We propose that the utility of the existing models could be vastly improved by incorporating these two features. In this paper we introduce a new network topology generator KU-LocGen, which enables node positioning in several well-known random graph generation models. We conduct our studies based on two backbone networks. We show that the proposed generator produces graphs that are representative of the real network as well as realistic alternatives. Finally, we present a cost analysis methodology and apply it to our topology generator. Reliable hub-and-spoke network design problems under uncertainty through multi-objective programming

HLP (hub location problem) tries to find locations of hub facilities and assignment of nodes to extended facilities. Hubs are facilities to collect, arrange, and distribute commodities in telecommunication networks, cargo delivery systems, etc. Hubs are very crucial and their inaccessibility impresses on network whole levels. In this paper, first, total reliability of the network is defined bas...

TAC: A Topology-Aware Chord-based Peer-to-Peer Network

Among structured Peer-to-Peer systems, Chord has a general popularity due to its salient features like simplicity, high scalability, small path length with respect to network size, and flexibility on node join and departure. However, Chord doesn’t take into account the topology of underlying physical network when a new node is being added to the system, thus resulting in high routing late...

A Computational Analysis of the Optimal Power Flow Problem

The optimal power flow problem is concerned with finding a proper operating point for a power network while attempting to minimize some cost function and satisfy several network constraints. In this report we analyze the optimal power flow problem subject to contingency constraints, which demands that there be enough power to meet demands in the network in the event of contingencies such as a f...

Space Vector Control Scheme of Three Level ZSI Applied to Wind Energy Systems

In this paper the Space Vector Control Scheme is implemented for a Wind Energy System using Three Level Impedance Source Inverter (ZSI). The wind energy system uses a Self Excited Induction generator (SEIG) which is the most emerging application in the field of Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The proposed system is modelled with a generator-side Diode Bridge Rectifier and a Stand-Alone si...

Hop-Constrained Node Survivable Network Design: an Application to MPLS over WDM

This paper addresses hop-constrained node survivable networks, i.e., networks protecting the demands through node disjoint paths and, simultaneously, guaranteeing a maximum number of hops for all demand paths in any failure situation. This problem is studied in the context of a MPLS over WDM network design problem. Given the WDM network topology and the traffic demand matrix, which includes the...
